Given the current political climate, strengthening the Democratic Party is more crucial than ever. If you’re committed to defending Home Rule and advancing DC Statehood, consider serving as a Delegate or Area Representative with the Ward 3 Democratic Committee.
As a Delegate, you’ll help shape our strategy to elect Democrats in Republican-held districts, advocate for Home Rule and Statehood, and champion key community issues. If you’re a registered Democrat in Ward 3, now is the time to get involved.
The election is tentatively scheduled for March 20, 2025. We will confirm the date and location as soon as details are available.

How to Become a Precinct Delegate with the Ward 3 Democrats
If you are interested in becoming a Precinct Delegate, follow these simple steps:
Register to run as a Precinct Delegate: Complete the registration form HERE. Be sure to submit your application before the caucus date and include your voting precinct, which you can look up here on the Board of Elections website.
Sign Up for the Caucus Meeting: (The Mobilize Link will be updated when available. )
Attend the Caucus: The tentative date for the caucus is March 20, 2025. Be prepared to introduce yourself and state why you want to serve as a Precinct Delegate.
Those who are currently elected Ward 3 Democrats or At-Large Committeewomen or Committeemen to the DC Democratic State Committee and former Ward 3 Democratic Committee Chairs are automatically considered delegates under our Bylaws, so if that's you, you do not need to run for a delegate position.
How to Become the Area III Representative with the Ward 3 Democrats
Following the election of precinct delegates, all voting members of the Committee who reside in Precincts 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 34 shall caucus and vote for an Area III Representative.
How to Become an At Large Delegate with the Ward 3 Democrats
If you are a registered Democrat in Ward 3, you are eligible to run for an at-large delegate position. In addition, if you are a registered Democrat in Ward 3 and you do not wish to run for an at-large delegate position, you are eligible to vote in the at-large delegate election.

Attend the Caucus: The tentative date for the caucus is March 20, 2025. Be prepared to introduce yourself and state why you want to serve as a Precinct Delegate.
